ATV Patrol
Hidalgo Police Department currently has six all terrain vehicles in their ATV program. The ATV’s are used for border operation along the Rio Grande River which borders Reynosa Mexico.
When not working along the Border, Hidalgo Police Department uses the ATV’s to provide enhanced patrols in neighborhoods that are experiencing a high crime rate. The ATV’s are used as stealth units that are fuel efficient, and are able to locate and apprehend suspects in these areas
During these operations which often involve local, state and federal operations, Hidalgo’s Police Department’s versatile ATV teams are able to provide surveillance, high intensity patrols, and a quick response team to any major occurrences that may occur along the Rio Grande River regardless of weather conditions due to their versatility.
