School Resource Officer Program
Hidalgo Police Department School Resource Officer Program
The Hidalgo Police Department School Resource Officers Programs is a school-based intervention program whose primary goal is to provide a safe and positive environment to all students, parents and campus staff. The program is a partnership between the City of Hidalgo, the Hidalgo Police Department, Hidalgo I.S.D. and Valley View I.S.D.
The Resource Officers main focus is to serve as mentors, positive role models, counselors and teachers in order to assist the staff of each campus under the jurisdiction of the City of Hidalgo. The S.R.O.’s also conduct monthly community meetings through the departments established neighborhood watch program to ensure a safe community and school districts.
